About Dr. Beers

Dr. Penny G. Beers is a career educator who worked as a teacher and supervisor for the Palm Beach County District Schools, which was then the ninth largest school district in the nation.

After her first successful career, she was hired by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, a highly-respected educational publishing company, to work with students and teachers across the United States in the use of both print and technological educational materials.

Dr. Beers has presented workshops as a featured speaker at professional meetings in over 35 state and national educational conferences, has co-authored three books on reading and writing strategies, and has authored five articles in professional journals. In addition, she has held a variety of leadership positions in local, state and national reading organizations.

Her degrees include a Bachelor of Science in Education from Temple University, a Master of Education from Xavier University, and a Doctor of Education from Nova University.

She is married with one child and one grandchild and lives in South Florida.
